RPAS WILCO Selected for CUAS 2026 to Showcase SafeAirspace

RPAS WILCO and parent company AIM Robotics have been selected for the Counter-UAS Sandbox 2026, where we'll demonstrate SafeAirspace — a unified airspace intelligence platform for detection, authorization, and response.

Selected for CUAS 2026

We’re proud to share that RPAS WILCO, together with our parent company AIM Robotics, has been selected to participate in CUAS 2026 — a premier defence innovation program bringing together leading counter-UAS (C-UAS) technologies, public safety agencies, and national security partners.

This milestone represents more than just participation in a high-impact event. It signals a growing shift in how organizations approach airspace security, drone detection, and response operations — a shift we’ve been building toward since SafeAirspace was first conceived.

What is CUAS 2026?

The Counter-Uncrewed Aerial Systems (CUAS) Sandbox 2026 is led by the Department of National Defence’s IDEaS program, which brings innovators and end users together to test solutions and tackle real defence and security challenges.

CUAS 2026 puts next-generation drone defence technologies to the test in real-world conditions — helping move the best ideas faster toward operational use.

It brings together:

  • Defence and military partners
  • Public safety organizations
  • Industry leaders in defence and security
  • Government and research partners

For RPAS WILCO, CUAS 2026 is an opportunity to demonstrate that modern airspace challenges require more than just detection — they require operational clarity, authorization context, and classification information that supports better-coordinated responses on the ground.

Beyond Fragmented Counter-UAS Systems

Across the industry, most counter-drone solutions focus on adding more sensors — radar, RF, optical, or acoustic.

But for frontline teams, more sensors often mean:

  • More data silos
  • More complexity
  • Slower decision-making

What’s missing is integration.

Frontline agencies don’t need more dots on a map — they need a connected system that turns data into actionable intelligence.

Introducing RPAS WILCO SafeAirspace

At CUAS 2026, we’ll be showcasing RPAS WILCO SafeAirspace — a next-generation airspace intelligence platform designed to unify the entire counter-UAS workflow.

SafeAirspace brings together:

  • Drone detection, including RF-based identification
  • Flight authorization awareness — knowing which drones in the sky are authorized and which aren’t
  • Operator localization and tracking
  • Coordinated response workflows

Rather than operating as a standalone sensor, SafeAirspace functions as a complete operational ecosystem — connecting detection, authorization, and response into a single interface.

SafeAirspace is built on the same authorization layer that powers our airport-operator notification network. The same backbone that helps Transport Canada–compliant pilots fly responsibly is what helps frontline teams instantly tell authorized drones from unauthorized ones.

Why This Matters for Public Safety and Defence

Modern threats involving uncrewed aerial systems are evolving rapidly. From unauthorized drone activity near airports to risks around critical infrastructure, organizations need:

  • Faster situational awareness
  • Clear identification of both the drone and the operator
  • Real-time decision support
  • Integrated response capabilities

SafeAirspace is designed specifically for:

  • Public safety agencies
  • Law enforcement and corrections
  • Airports and airspace authorities
  • Critical infrastructure operators

By shifting from fragmented tools to a unified ecosystem, teams can operate with greater clarity, speed, and confidence.

Shaping the Future of Airspace Security

Being selected for CUAS 2026 reinforces our commitment to advancing practical, scalable, and accessible C-UAS solutions — not lab demos, but technology built for the people who actually have to respond when something goes wrong.

As the industry evolves, the focus is shifting from isolated technologies to connected ecosystems — systems that don’t just detect threats, but help teams understand, decide, and act in real time.
