Airspace Questions

About the data, the map and flying near controlled airspace.

Where does the airspace data come from?
From NAV CANADA, Canada's air navigation service provider. RPAS WILCO is on NAV CANADA's list of authorized data distributors.
Can I fly a drone in controlled airspace?
Only with an Advanced Operations pilot certificate and an authorization from NAV CANADA, which you request through NAV Drone. Basic operations must stay out of controlled airspace.
Is this map enough to plan a flight?
Use it as a starting point. Before every flight, check NOTAMs, the weather and the current aeronautical information for your site. RPAS WILCO brings these together in one place.
Do I need an account to use the map?
No. This map is free to use. A free RPAS WILCO account adds NOTAMs, weather and site surveys.
